If it’s both terrifying and amazing then you should definitely pursue it. — Erada
Every day I talk about my upcoming travels with someone new and one of the most common questions almost everyone asks is “Are you nervous/scared?”
Yes, yes I am.
There are so many things in this world that make us nervous and scared. And it comes with the territory of getting a new job, or moving somewhere new, or doing anything that is different from what you’ve been doing with your life up until this point. Obviously some things are scarier than others and some are more of a challenge. But I’ve found that sometimes the most terrifying things can be the most rewarding.
I want to be terrified. I want to be scared and thrilled and challenged. Because that’s just the kind of person I am. I throw myself off bridges and choose to run around the world because that is how I learn and grow the best. The world is an amazing place and I am going to be out there experiencing as much of it as I can as I face my fears head on.
I know my path is not one everyone else is meant to take. I’m not saying everyone should pack up and move. Instead, I suggest this: figure out what amazes you and yet terrifies you at the same time. And then go after it with everything you have.
